Prompt: Emerging Scarcity

The Story:
With the emerging scarcity of fossil fuels, humanity has found it more cost-effective to have their employees work from home. Cities have become densely populated, powered by canopies of solar panels, whereas the outskirts are devoid of many of the luxuries and electricity available in the city center. In the search for a more comfortable life, a delivery truck driver seeks a life in the city for his new family. Upon visiting the city, he discovers that so much has become automated that barely anyone needs to leave their home, creating a utopian ghost town. What first appears to be paradise soon reveals itself to be dysfunctional and isolationist.
