Prompt: Evolution of Books:
(Short Pitch) "A short story about a robot who finds an old pop-up book. When the book breaks, he realizes the value of a handcrafted object and struggles to fix it in a distant and digital future."
(Longer Pitch) A young robot makes the greatest discovery: a paper pop-up book from the past. When the book happens to break (page rips, ect) the young lad is determined to fix it. He perhaps tries to use a laser or welding equipment thinking it will mend it. However, he ends up completely destroying/disintegrating the book. Appreciating the old/handcrafted object, he then tries to reconstruct a new pop-up book using the digital technology found in his world. (Mushing iPads as pages, computer chips making up design patterns).
30 sec - 1 min short story
Similar to The Scarecrow sponsored by Chipotle. A cute, simple story that a company could sponsor to support handcrafted touches in a new age of digital media.
The main character doesn't have to be a robot. It could be human/other (:
Cute & Simple 3D style with a more lighthearted/funny approach.

ReplyDelete-- As a side note I ran this story by Josh (the story adviser) on Friday. The one thing that needs to be worked out a bit more is the Robot's change of interest into a desire for something physical and hand crafted. But otherwise it's a really solid story.
Awesome (: Thank you so much for doing that Meagan. We can definitely come up with more of a backstory or interests for him/her.
