Pitch 1 – The Future Of Books
One Sentence: "In the future, the physical book is a thing of the past"
In the style of a documentary, we are set in the not-to-distant future. By this time, all books have become replaced with electronic Kindles, Ipads, and other tablets. There is no such thing as bound-covered pages anymore, but whenever a book is found, there is mass excitement. Books are treated as primeval, prehistoric tools that are extremely rare and special. With great fascination, they are featured on TV documentaries, online websites, and news reports, as they now fall in the same category as cave paintings or ancient hieroglyphics.
Pitch 2 – Future of Sustainability in a Particular Environment/Future of Housing
One Sentence: "Future homes evolve and sustain around nature"
We look at the past natural disaster tragedies in the history of America: San Francisco’s 1906 earthquake, 1889 Johnston Town Flood, 2005 Atlantic Hurricane Katrina, 1925 Tri-State Tornado, etc. As we progress, scientists and architects are able to combine forces and create houses that are suitable for their natural disaster environments. Earthquake-prone communities are made on a rocking stand so that they move with the land. Houses vulnerable to tornadoes are now built in underground suburban neighborhoods. Places that are flooded often are now built with floating homes that are chained to the ground, so they can float on the water, but not be carried away. Hurricane-prone homes are built with activated glass domes that shut over the houses in case of a hurricane. Instead of fighting against nature, we have learned to work with and around it.
You got my vote for the in the future =).
